Tilstone Bank Formally known as ‘The Gallops’ is a dedicated cross country riding route set in the Cheshire countryside near Tarporley, created for riders who want open space, varied ground, and a straightforward place to ride. The focus is simple — well kept going, clear access, and an enjoyable experience for both horse and rider.
The route offers flowing stretches for forward work along with 30 optional jumps for those who want to include schooling fences as part of their ride. It is designed to suit a range of riders bringing their own horses, whether for conditioning, schooling, or a relaxed countryside visit.
Access currently operates on a simple honesty box basis, allowing riders to turn up and ride during opening hours. Online booking and rider accounts will be introduced soon for added convenience.
Tilstone Gallops is not a riding school or competition venue. It is a practical, rider focused facility built around good ground, open space, and uncomplicated riding.
The focus is simple. Solid ground management, sensible rider numbers, and a course that stays rideable across the season.
